What makes a person

"The Craftsman"

"The Mute"

"The Politician"

"The Witness"

Something artsy at last. May I introduce you to The Craftsman, The Mute, The Politician and The Witness, an acryl painting series I did at the end of September.
Have you ever thought about which organ or body part describes or embodies a person best? To reduce people to only one thing is harder than it seems if you think about it.
Take the Witness for example. He's much more than what he sees. What he might have heard can be of more importance than all he saw. But what about The Mute or maybe a blind person? Is sound even more important to them?
Long story short: You cannot reduce people to one thing only. For that to happen you need to abstract them into the grotesque, making them barely human at all. So why is it that we are sometimes compelled to do that exactly?

A Game Of Shadows

Attention to Details

Was soll ich sagen? Was sagt ihr?

You've probably seen that I changed my design. What can I say? I simply couldn't stand the past one anymore. It's not fully satisfying yet, and I kept my header for now, but it's more in the direction that I wanted it to go. Thoughts?

Today's post is going to be somewhat of a thought collection dealing with details of our lifes.
Take me for example. Right now I'm dealing with all that's connected with going to university. Finances, courses and everything else you have to consider when studying in another country, specifically the UK. And because I am the first person from my inner family to go to university I have to read through the simplest of things to understand them.
Choosing a course is already hard enough. I want to study photography, best in combination with art, but those are hard to find as a combined course, which means I also have to look at both seperatedly. And you can probably guess that almost every university offers art or photography, which means there's an overwhelming amount of courses to choose from. So you have to ask yourself countless questions and research the answers to narrow them down. Which content is important to me? How good is the teaching staff? Am I convinced by previous students' final works? How about the facilities? Are there any scholarships? How do I get to the nearest city? And, and, and...
Simultaneously I have to figure out what to do with the rest of my gap year. Of course I'm working on my portfolios as much as I can, but also taking part in contests, doing an internship and maybe starting a mini-job and saving up some money are options to consider.
One of the main disadvantages of G8 (a recent change in our school system from graduation in 12 instead of 13 years of school) is having to make life-changing decisions at a time when you're still finding your place in the world, if you ask me.
Okay, that's enough for now. I'm currently working on something big, which is why I'm not posting as much, which I'm truly sorry for. I hope to write more again in the future.

Bis dahin,
Küsschen,
Until then,
Kisses,
