Heute werde ich euch etwas Spezielles vorstellen. Es mag nicht jedermann gefallen, doch ist es eine der Errungenschaften, die ich in meinem jungen Leben erreicht habe, und auf die ich stolz bin.
Es geht, wie der Titel schon verrät, um NaNoWriMo.

today's gonna be a special Introduction. Maybe it isn't interesting to all of you, but I loved doing it and I'm really proud of what I've achieved by it. Its name is NaNoWriMo.
Ihr wisst nicht, was das sein soll?
Keine Sorge, habe ich bis vor ungefähr zwei Jahren auch nicht getan.
NaNoWriMo ist die Kurzform für National Novel Writing Month. Ziel ist es, 50 000 Wörter an einem Buch in einem Monat zu schreiben. Bei diesem kann es sich um ein Drehbuch, einen Roman oder einen Krimi handeln, ganz egal. Der Sinn ist, dass man eine Art Rohbau seines Projekts verfasst, auf dass dann der eigentliche Arbeitsprozess, das Bearbeiten dieses Rohbaus mit dem Ziel, eine gute Geschichte zu haben.
What the heck is NaNoWriMo?
Don't worry, I wouldn't have known it if it wasn't for my dear friend Jojo (you know her from this photoshoot), who is deeply interested in literature and creative writing. I'd say even more than I am, actually. Anyways, it's short for National Novel Writing Month. Your supposed to write 50,000 words in a month, continuing or starting your own novel. The outcome should be more of a rough draft than a finished novel, so you can continue with editing.
Unmöglich?
Nein, ist es nicht. Es mag zunächst total verrückt klingen. 50 000 Wörter sind immerhin fast 100 DIN A4 Seiten, und alles in einem Monat, dafür muss man wirklich keine Hobbies haben, keinen Job haben und nicht mehr unter Schulpflicht stehen - das habe ich zumindest gedacht. 1613 Wörter pro Tag, wenn man 31 Tage Zeit hat, bei 30 Tagen sogar 1667! Doch es ist nicht so hart, wie es klingt.
Hat mein ein Projekt, das man wirklich mag, und wo man denkt, dass es die Arbeit Wert ist, kann man loslegen. Und selbst wenn man mal Tage dabei hat, an denen man keine Zeit hat, oder überhaupt nichts zustande bekommt, kann man es wieder aufholen, wenn man gerade gut dabei ist.
Impossible?
Defenitely NOT! It may sound crazy at first, especially since 50,000 words are nearly 100 DIN A4 pages, but it's possible, trust me. I thought in order to make you'd have to be unemployed, no student and you'd have to have loads of time, but it isn't as hard as it sounds. If you're doing NaNoWriMo in a month with 30 days, you have to write at least 1,667 words, if you're doing it in a month with 31 days it'd have to be 1,613 words per day.
But if you have an idea for a novel you really, really like, it is easy to make yourself do it. Even if there are days on which you simply have no time or cannot write a single word, you can always catch up later.
Was sind deinen Erfahrungen?
Ich persönlich, muss gestehen, dass ich während des ganzen Monats meine Höhen und Tiefen hatte. Ich habe es letztes Jahr im August das erste Mal gemacht, und das Projekt schließlich am letzten Tag mit 51000 Wörtern nicht einmal zur Hälfte fertig gehabt. Das heißt, dass ich es mir im nächsten August noch einmal antun werde. Es gibt Momente, in denen du einfach keine Lust mehr auf deine Charaktere haben wirst, oder auf den Punkt der Geschichte, an dem du gerade bist. Ich habe, wenn das der Fall war, einfach ein neues Kapitel angefangen, und einen Lücke gelassen, die ich später gefüllt habe. Außerdem begannen meine Hauptfiguren irgendwann selbstständig zu entscheiden, was sie tun wollten, und ich konnte sie nicht daran hindern. So kam es, das meine Protagonistin plötzlich dem Prinzen einen Dolch in den Magen rammte und mit dem anderen Protagonisten die Flucht ergriff. Schade war, dass ich mir deshalb auch einen neuen Handlungsort überlegen musste, aber die Szene löschen, fand ich auch irgendwie blöd.
What have you experienced?
I've had my ups and downs but would and will do it again. I finished not even half of the project with 51,000 words and will continue with it in August 2013.
There will be moments in which you won't want to go on. If that happens, all you can do is take a break or start a new chapter. You can always fill in the gaps later on.
At one point of the story my characters also started to gain their own will and left me with no power over their actions. But those were the best parts, I swear.
I recommend it with all my heart.
